Systems Administrator

Our company is seeking a highly energetic and dynamic individual for the role of Systems Administrator for our IT department. The successful candidate will be required to manage and tune in-house software systems to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Server Administration -Design, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. Ensure the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.
Storage Administration – Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Storage and SAN infrastructure based on business requirements and adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models
Acquisition & Deployment– Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
Operational Management– Manage all operating systems and end-user software. Perform and test routine system backups and restores. Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Computer Science.
  • Minimum of five years equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MSCE) Certification.
  • Three or more years of solid experience working in SAN/Storage/Backup Administration.
  • Strong working, hands-on knowledge of Active Directory, o365/Exchange Administration, Azure tenant services, Group Policy, Microsoft Server 2008-2016, Windows 10 management.
  • Support and ownership of Windows update services and application deployments for both server and client operating systems with an intimate understanding of SCCM, WSUS, and Intune and a desire to improve/mature the management of endpoints.
  • Working technical knowledge of EMC Unity Storage Solutions.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
